On finding the poles of spherical functions

Lviv Politecnic National University

A technique for determining the poles and moments of spherical functions is described, based on the Sylvester theorem. The method allows for an effective implementation on a computer and can be used in geodesy when finding multipoles of the Earth of different orders.
