The method of deriving of quantitative characteristics of microstructure of rigid bodies on the basis of REM- imuges is surveyed in this paper. The procedure of preparation REM-samplcs and the algorithms of holding oj the stereologic and planimetrie analysis are determined. The digital handling of the REM-images is offered to be carried out on the basis of a Kriging method. The new approach to definition of dynamic measure of threshold segmentation of the REM-image is offered.
