Experimental investigation of heavy metals content on protection zones of highways

Aim. Experimentally investigate the effect of heavy metals on roadside lands by mobile sources of pollution, and the spread of heavy metals with distance. Methodology. Performed experimental researches, during which were selected 5 soil samples for left and right side of the road Derevach-Trostianets. Results. The level of maximum allowable concentrations of heavy metals in the soil does not exceed the permissible level. Reduced the content of heavy metals on the left side of the first width, due to the availability of forest shelter bands. Second width located on a plot of the road with slopes on each side 8-9m. Hazardous substances spread in both directions about the same distance; this indicates that the wind rose in this segment does not have significant influence. At the station with the third width by results of the analysis, two meter embankments on both sides of the road are not enough, so we recommend planting shrub along the protective band with a width of 5.10 m. On the fourth section on the left side are grasslands, and on the right little slope. The level of heavy metals does not exceed the maximum permissible concentration (MPC). The one closest to the maximum level of MPC is section of the fifth width, this caused quite abrupt slope road, when climbing up emissions of hazardous substances in cars increases. Originality. Experimentally investigate the effect of heavy metals from mobile sources on roadside lands and their spread with distance. Practical significance. According to results of experiment can be develop recommendations for effective arrangement the sanitary-protection zones.
