Seismic system for monitoring and forecasting local earthquakes in the Dnepropetrovsk region

Summarizes the results of preliminary studies to ascertain the nature of earthquakes and seismic safety in the provision of technologically-risk areas Krivoy Rog iron ore and coal basins Pavlograd. The possibilities of highly sensitive seismic stations UK15, established in Dnepropetrovsk (n. Mirnij), check local and remote Kryvyi Rih and Pavlogradskij earthquakes.

Current state and prospects of development studies seismological in the Carpathian region of Ukraine

Shows the short history of seismological observations in the Carpathian region, the necessity of improving the seismic equipment and automation of processing the data. Is the list of existing seismic stations, their equipment and basic parameters layout. Given a list of problems to be solved by using materials obtained seismological observations. Shows the main directions of modernization of the hardware receive seismic information, communications and software.

The Earthquake in Kryvyi Rih 14-01-2011 as a local result of seismotectonic and man-caused processes

In the paper the results of the conducted analysis of records of the registered seismic event which was take place 2011.01.14 in Kryvyi Rig and arguments in favour of determine this event as earthquake are presented.

Recent deformations of the Earth crust in the Berehove horst zone

On the basis of the analysis of many year extensometric observation results in the Beregove horst zone the following conclusion has been drawn: the Earth's crust compression axis is oriented perpendicularly to the spreading of the East Carpathians what is in agreement with actual hypothesis regarding the neotectonic progress of the Panontan basin.

Features of the preparing and characteristics of the center of the Coastal earthquake in 1965 (according to macroseismic data)

On the basis of macroseismic data analysis and with bringing of other geological-geophysical information features of preparation processes of 1965 Beregovo earthquake source are explored, its mechanism and characteristic are specified, probable value of geometrical and physical parameters of break are calculated and its spatial localization is specified

Extensometric method on study of seismotectonic processes in source areas of Transcarpathians earthquakes

In the paper the history of development and methodical-apparatus supply and results of extensometric observations in the Beregovo hills area in Transcarpathians in particular in Mujievska (Grand Beregivska) mountain is shortly described. The method of separation and results of analysis of deformation anomaly – precursor of perceptible 1989 Vynogradovo earthquake is given. The changes of geomechanical regime of Mujievska mountain rocks massifs till and during and after this earthquake are traced.

Identification of quarry blasts in the Carpathian region of Ukraine by the criterion of similarity of their waveforms

The criterion of similarity of waveforms at the same station is suggested for identification of quarry blasts conducted on regular basis at local extraction cites of Carpathian region of Ukraine. Case study is presented of the identification of quarry blasts from epicentral area of Dovhe-Irshava, conducted there during 2005–2007. The conclusion has been drawn that the criterion is effective and applicable for removing the quarry blasts from catalogues of local earthquakes.

Variations of the response functions at “Odesa” and “Iznik” geomagnetic observatories in 2011

Purpose. The purpose of research – the approbation of earthquake prediction method for variations of the magnetovariational response functions that obtained by the geomagnetic observatories data processing. Methodology. The methodology includes the study of the geoelectric region structure through the analysis of the induction vector components and the horizontal magnetic tensor ones that obtained by the seconds-data processing at two geomagnetic observatories ("Odessa" (Ukraine) and "Iznik" (Turkey)) in 2011.

Processes of faulting in the sources of perceptible earthquakes in the Precarpathians and Transcarpathians

Purpose. Getting new knowledge about the processes in the centers and focal areas of perceptible  earthquakes in the Pre-Carpathians  And  Trans-Carpathians . Methodology. To study the processes of faulting we used a technique which is based on the notion of the source as  a moving, extended source. The parameters of azimuth hodograph τ (Az) - travel time of focal waves Pi –are used to determine  the length of the rupture, the rate of its ripping, the propagation direction of the rupture in the focal zone of the earthquake.
