Shumlianskyi V. Polish abuse and Ukrainian “khrunivstvo” as elements of the elections system in the Austro-Hungarian state in the period of 1873 – 1914

The issue of the Polish-Ukrainian political confrontation during the elections to the Vienna parliament and Seym of Galicia, and the influence of abuses of Polish authorities on election results, as well as Ukrainian “khrunivstvo” are examined.

NATURE AND RESIDENTIAL ENVIRONMENT IN THE FIRST GARDEN CITIES IN GALICIA: “SALWATOR” IN KRAKOW AND “NOVYI SVIT” IN LVIV

The article discloses the peculiarities of the nature and residential environment in the first garden cities in Galicia: “Salwator” in Krakow and “Novyi Svit” in Lviv. The topicality of the issue is predetermined by the need for supplementing and developing available scientific researches related to the study of the garden city concept as well as for analyzing profoundly and comparing the architectural and townplanning structures of the garden cities in Galicia at the early stages of their development.

The article considers one of the groups of fortifications of the third stage of
construction of the Mykolayiv-Rozvadiv bridgehead fortification (tet de pon), which was called
«Gruppe Lysa gora» (Lysa gora group). The fortifications of the Lysa gora group are now in
danger of destruction due to the active increase of economic activities for the development of

NEW ROME, AS AN IDEAL HIERATOPY, IN THE GALICIAN SACRED ARCHITECTURE OF THE INDEPENDENCE AGE

The aim of the article is to reveal the tendency to use images of the Constantinople capital's architecture in the projects of sacred buildings in Galicia at the beginning of the XXI century. Under the hieratopy of New Rome means the special status of Constantinople - the sacred center of the World Christian (Roman) State. After the fall of Constantinople, the image of New Rome became available for reproduction in previously remote corners of the Byzantine world, including in the construction of the identities of certain modern nations formed in the nineteenth century.

Training of Ukrainian Waffen-ss Chaplains in Sennheim and Their Duty in 14th Ss-volunteer Division “galicia” (1943–1945)

In the article author researched the background and motives for the establishment of the Chaplaincy service in the 14th SS-Volunteer Division «Galicia» during the Second World War and analyzed the military training of the Chaplain Corps Division. This training took place in the SS-Training Camp Sennheim (Cernay) in 1943 and consisted of a politico- ideological and military training of Ukrainian priests of the Greek Catholic Church. The article also research the status of Ukrainian chaplains in the Waffen-SS and their number — both Greek Catholic and Orthodox.

Historical parallels in the formation of architecture of railway stations in Halychyna and Tyrol

The aim of the given article is to trace the origins of common forms of space and plasticity in railway station buildings in Halychyna (Galicia) and Tyrol and reveal their most important features and trends in their formation.

Participation of Sydir Golubovich in Political Trials of Galicia, Early 20th Century

The lawyer’s activity of S. Golubovich at the beginning of the twentieth century is discussed in this article. His role in the famous contemporary trials of political nature was revealed, which reflected the sharpening contradictions between ukrainians and poles of eastern Galicia in the specified period. The speeches of counsel were analyzed when considering political affairs by Myroslav Sìchinskyj (1908), chernyhivskih peasants (1908) and students of the Lviv University (1911).

Attention is paid to the issues of the historical and cultural heritage of prominent figures of the Ukrainian past, its influence on cultural and socio-economic changes, transformational and processes of modernization in Ukraine, and to the formation of a distinctive national socio-cultural space in the modern conditions of Ukrainian state-building, growth of national consciousness and the manifestation of Ukrainian identity.
