LIGHT AND SPACE COMPOSITION OF LE CORBUSIER'S SACRED BUILDINGS

The article discusses the ways, methods and means used by architect Le Corbusier to organize the light environment in his sacred buildings: the chapel of Notre Dame du Haut in Roncham; the church of the Dominican monastery complex Notre Dame de la Tourette; the Catholic church of Saint-Pierre-de-Firmin. The churches were built in France in the 50s and 70s of the last century, with the exception of the church in Firmin, which was completed in 2006.

SPECIAL FEATURE FORM CREATION IN THE TEMPLE BUILDING OF THE PUBLICATIONS AND PERIODICALS

The article analyzes studies and publications on the subject of church architecture, which focus on the planning, volume-spatial features, traditions of the formation and development of wooden and stone church architecture, as well as light, color, material, compositional techniques, and symbolism in the formative vision of the development of Ukrainian church building.

LIGHT IN THE SACRED SPACE OF THE MODERN GREEK CATHOLIC CHURCHS

Based on domestic and foreign experience, an analysis of the natural light filling of the sacred space of Modern Greek Catholic churches in Ukraine and abroad. Similarities and differences in the formation of the light environment of the modern church, compared with the traditional one, have been establish.

The architecture of Modern Greek Catholic churches in Ukraine significantly influenced by the traditions of architectural formation of other branches of Christianity. This influence manifested primarily in the organization of their lighting environment.

ON THE QUESTION OF ARCHITECTURAL IMAGE OF THE HOLY TRINITY TEMPLE IN PRZEMYSL

The article deals with the issue of the lost heritage of the Eastern Christian culture of the city of Przemyśl. Being in the area of intense Latin religious expansion, the city underwent numerous transformations and changes, which led to the loss of almost the entire authentic layer relating to the most ancient and Rus` periods in its history.

TEMPLE SYMBOLISM IN THE ARCHITECTURE OF MIDDLE AGES EUROPE

The article traces the interpretation of Christian symbolism in the Middle Ages, analyzes the works of Dionysius the Areopagite, Saint Augustine, John of Damascus.

In the Middle Ages of Christian Europe, God is the Creator always in the center, and the symbols make it possible to know God, to spiritually touch it. Therefore, in the Middle Ages, symbolism develops in Christian art and architecture.

Етапи еволюції закомарного завершення храмів Київської Русі

Проаналізовано та узагальнено матеріали, присвячені перекриттю храмів київської та чернігівської школи ХІ–ХІІ ст. у контексті еволюції закомарного храму. Виявлено п’ять варіантів конструктивного вирішення та компонування перекриттів компартиментів між раменами просторового хреста і відповідних цим варіантам різновидів завершень фасадів. Висунуто гіпотезу про заключний етап розвитку закомарного храму, у якому могли застосовувати хрестові склепіння, які найбільше відповідають естетичній моделі такого типу храму.

Touristic attractiveness of Lviv temples

The scientific article is devoted to the analysis of touristic attractiveness to Lviv’s temples. It attempts to characterize a number of aspects that are important for the promotion of Lviv church architecture in the context of tourist attraction. Emphasized, that sacral buildings are not only a decoration of the city of Lion, but also a vivid illustration of the historical past.
