THE ART OF MAIDAN AS THE SOURСE OF FILLING THE REVOLUTION OF DIGNITY MUSEUM

The paper presents an attempt to analyze certain art projects created during the Maidan Revolution: shields painting, Strike Poster, a barbican. The emphasis is placed on a cause-and-effect relationship between all these pieces of art and the idea of creating an entirely new memorial complex, which will include sites of commemoration and the Revolution of Dignity Museum. All these artist-run initiatives are considered as the sources of filling of the new museum. The artistic works during the Revolution of Dignity are undoubtedly interesting and educational for the descendants.

THE MANUALS «MUSEALITY» IN THE HISTORICAL RETROSPECTIVE: FROM ANTIQUITY TO THE XIX th CENTURY

The concept of «museality» is one of the main theoretical constructs in the modern museology. Museality means that a person considers selected subjects as such important testimonies of a certain state of things that wants to keep them as long as possible and to disseminate knowledge about them in the society. This particular relation of a person to his world is connected with the material objects, which are called «musealias». «Museal need» to take from everyday use some monuments of antiquity had various motives in different historical periods.

Structural models of composite terms with the museum component (based on museum studies terminology)

The article indicates the specificity of the term as an inseparable element of a term system. It examines term combinations with the component «museum» and its derivatives in the Ukrainian term system of Museum Studies fixed in present-day terminological dictionaries relating to the field, distinguishing structural models of formation of these analytical terms.

NTSH Museum in lviv (1912–1939): Scientific-Fund Work

This article based on the analysis of literature and archival sources, followed the main stages of the development and formation of one of the largest museum institutions of Lviv and Galicia to 1939 – Museum of the scientific society named after Shevchenko in Lviv. Dedicated 1912–1920 years – the period from the time when the Museum of the Shevchenko scientific society received a separate room for the museum fund collections became public, the public museum institution, until the end of The First World War and the Ukrainian liberation competitions.

Museums of the 21st Century in the context of globalization: new meanings, challenges and trends

Modern museum environment intensively passes the process of transformation in the context of global geopolitical, economic, social and cultural changes. It is impossible to forget that exactly museums are for today that perform the duty of forming of historical memory of the Ukrainian people and identities, promotes self-actualization of nation.

Problems of preservation and display of artillery of the fourteenth and eighteenth centuries in museums

Today in Ukraine sciences like museology and weaponology are being actively developed, military history of our country is greatly popularized. There is a growing interest, especially among young people, in military museums and weapon museum collections, which causes the need to reform museum exhibitions of weapons relatively to challenges of our time taking into account the latest technological capabilities and consumer needs. 

Museum communication in the face of the challenges of globalization

The article deals with the problem of actualization the potential of the museum in a globalized society. Modern communication paradigm is considered in the context of providing the possibility of direct involvement of all participants to communication process. Modern social needs lead to social change of the museum mission towards effective cooperation with society. Communicative space of museum in modern conditions is characterized by availability and the possibility of cultural values transmission in the virtual space. 

Museum innovation and interactivity in museum: theory and practice

In this article it is attempted to carry out a theoretical distinction of museum innovations and interactivity on example of practical experience of museum institutions of Ukraine and the world. Museum innovations are considered in the broad and narrow contexts. The first one involves radical rethinking of traditional museum practices, of the places and the role of museums in society and culture, which contributes to the further evolution of the museum as a specific historical and cultural phenomenon.

Medieval archeological sites in Sudoviy Vyshni in Lviv region: history and prospects

One of the best studied monuments of X–XI centuries. in the Eastern Carpathian region is in settlement Zamchysko, which occupies the edge of a high ridge on the western outskirts of town Sudova Vyshnia. The article analyzes the process of scientific research of the results of archaeological investigations 1956–1962 biennium of archaeological monuments of town Sudova Vyshnia in court in Lviv, and the fate of archaeological findings obtained in research on these monuments famous Ukrainian archaeologist Olexii Ratycz.
