Argentinian Sugar Cane Vinasse: Characterization of Phenolic Compounds and Evaluation of Adsorption as a Possible Remediation Technique

Chemical composition of sugar cane vinasse (Tucumán, Argentina) was studied finding high concentration of organic compounds. Phenolic compounds were partially characterized, finding mostly flavonoids, anthocyanins, as well as resorcinol and ferulic acid derivatives. Adsorption isotherms of phenolic compounds and total organic compounds were measured on four commercial activated carbons with different physical and chemical properties at two temperatures. The isotherm shape depends on the type of carbon and the adsorption capacity is enhanced as temperature increases.

PREPARATION OF PHENOLIC COMPOUNDS OF SECONDARY PRODUCTS OF WINE PRODUCTION

Grape is one of the oldest plants used by man. It has a special taste and is in great demand around the world. It is mainly used by the food industry, and by-products of winemaking are actively used in cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries, due to its composition. Grape production wastes - components of the vine are suitable for further use for the extraction of valuable biologically active substances and increase the competitiveness of primary and secondary winemaking.

Biotechnological aspects of obtaining biologically active substances of Adonis vernalis

This article shows the possibility of using a biotechnological method to obtain biologically active compounds based on in vitro cultivation of callus cultures. The callus biomass of Adonis vernalis was obtained in vitro by using the biotechnological method. The extracts based on callus biomass of Adonis vernalis were obtained. The content of flavonoids and phenolic compounds was determined. The antioxidant activity of callus biomass of Adonis vernalis has also been studied.

SPRING PRECIOUS PRESENTATION – SOURCE OF PHENOL COMPOUNDS WITH ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY

The paper provides generalized information on the pharmacological properties, chemical
composition and use of primrose (Primula veris) in folk and official medicine. It has been
established that only 9 medicines on the basis of extracts from roots or flowers of the primrose
with a cup used in diseases of the respiratory system are registered in the pharmaceutical
market of Ukraine. In addition, the content of extractives, phenolic compounds, flavonoids,
antioxidant activity of tincture of grass of the primrose of spring is determined.
