INVESTIGATION OF THE IMPACT OF PHOSPHORUS OXIDE ON THE CARBON DIOXIDE UPTAKE RATE BY CHLOROPHYLL-PRODUCING MICROALGAE

One of the most important ecological problems of the XXI century is the change in the global climate. Over the past decade, as a result of human activity, the concentration of gases forming the greenhouse effect in the atmosphere is increasing. This leads to devastating consequences for the planet Earth and makes the problem of climate change one of the most important in the field of environmental protection.

INVESTIGATION OF THE IMPACT OF NITROGEN OXIDES ON THE CARBON DIOXIDE UPTAKE RATE BY CHLOROPHYLL-PRODUCING MICROALGAE IN THE AQUATIC HABITAT

As of today, humanity has to deal with a large number of environmental problems. Such problems include climate changes on Earth, which makes the worldwide scientific community and today’s world leaders of countries to raise the alarm. The impetus for the drawing of attention was the rapid rise in the earth temperature, threatening to raise the level of the World Ocean and cause catastrophic consequences in general.

Effect of sulphur compounds on cultivation process of microalgae chlorella vulgaris

The article deals with the investigation of the influence of sulfur compounds concentration on the cultivation of microalgae Chlorella vulgaris for the purpose of future use of flue gases as a nutrient source. The alteration of culture medium pH and microalgae biomass production under simultaneous injection of CO2 and H2SO4 or Na2SO3 are studied. It is shown that the enhancement of sulphur concentration to 0.44 g/L by using Na2SO3 increases the biomass growth by 15 percent and does not cause deviations from the optimal pH range.
