quality of service

Моделі якості послуг телекомунікаційних мереж

The quality of service models of telecommunication networks was considered. The features of providing of quality of service in the telephone and computer networks was explored. On the basis of this research it sets, that the metropolitan telephone networks are characterized by a higher accuracy, dependability and security by comparison to the computer local area networks. Substantial advantage of computer local area networks above the metropolitan telephone networks is providing a higher speed of the user information transfer, although defect there is an instability of this speed.

Calculation of the Self-similar Traffic Characteristics Which Is an Approximation to the Pareto Distribution

The model of self-similar traffic is widely used, but some tasks of assessing the quality of service in the packet network are unresolved. It is known that in the presence of self-similarity properties in the incoming stream of requirements with increasing load intensity ρ, the quality of service characteristics deteriorate, but not as much as is assumed by the Norros method. The discrepancy between the results of modeling and estimates obtained by the Norros method is hundreds of percent.

Research of the Efficiency of the Cdn Network

The network architecture of the content delivery network (CDN) and methods of the load balancing were examined in this paper. We have described the algorithm of end users’ request routing which allows selecting the optimum edge server to receive a content with maximum quality. The use of network system monitoring was offered. This system allows to efficiently assess the status of the network and promptly report possible problems. It was defined which parameters are needed to be monitored.

The analysis and modeling of queues forming and processing in the network devices

The investigation has covered buffer resource and queue management as main and the most important network traffic parameter and access control and overload mechanism. Network devices interaction model can performed by three levels:
-    physical layer;
-    protocols layer;
-    queues consolidating two previous levels.

Model of Routing in Telecommunication Network with Overlapping by Nodes Paths

In this article it was suggested a solution of topical scientific and practical problem associated with the development of flow-based model of multipath routing by overlapping by nodes paths within the Telecommunication Network (TCN). The model is a further development of the well known multipath routing model based on the introduction to the structure of non-linear constraints responsible for the calculation of routes that intersect at nodes.

The Study of Deployment Basics of Ols-Based Backhaul Networks

Unified network platform to support voice, data and multimedia applications is attractive for optical level. Optical packet switching (OPS) provides a platform where the only transport data unit for all type of traffic will be package. On the other hand, quality of service (QoS), class of service (CoS) and the type of service (ToS) required for the future of the Internet more elaborated and more powerful control plane. Optical switching labels (OLS) supports OPS, optical flow switching (OFS) and optical burst switching (OBS) with full interoperability of QoS, CoS and ToS.
