Historical  aspects  of  migration  processes  in  Ukraine,  in  particular  features  of  social  and 
political  and  legal  status  of  migrants  on  the  example  of  Russian  migration  of  time  Imperial 
Russia and the USSRare investigated. It isproved that Russians in Ukraine asan ethnic group
