Most industrial process processes involve the separation of liquid and solid phases. In many cases, these processes can be intensified by the aggregation of particles into aggregates under the action of coagulating and flocculating agents.

Technical polyacrylamides are widely used in water treatment, industrial wastewater treatment, for flocculation and floccular flotation.

Depending on the nature of the modifying polymer and the conditions of its introduction, both the decrease and the stability of the system can occur. Synthetic macromolecular flocculants are more widely used than naturally occurring flocculants. The dimensions of the partially adsorbed microcircuit may differ significantly from those in equilibrium. The higher the degree of polymerization, the slower the equilibrium of the adsorption of the polymer and the longer the loop and tails on the surface at the first moment of adsorption. The purpose of this work was to experimentally investigate the rate of deposition of coal enrichment waste at the Chervonograd Central Mining Plant when used as a flocculant modified polyacrylamide obtained in the laboratory of the department, which differs from the original by increasing the molecular weight and partial size of the polymer. to the spatial change of the conformation of the molecules in the aqueous solution of the polymer and the intensification of the flocculation process. Also, compare the efficiency of the obtained modified flocculant with different foreign analogues.

The study of the effect of PAA consumption on the deposition rate of clay particles at different concentrations of the solid phase of the suspension showed that at a concentration of the solid phase up to 15 g / l the deposition rate increases to 7.5 mm / s. The decrease in the concentration of the solid phase leads to a decrease in the deposition rate of the clay particles, which can be explained by the formation of smaller flocs as the distance between the particles increases sharply.

This effect shows that at a concentration of the solid particle greater than 20 g / l are the most productive conditions for flocculation, ie, at lower consumption of polyacrylamide per unit mass of the solid phase is the formation of flocs of optimal size.
