The Features of Rheological and Tribological Behavior of High-Viscosity Polyolefine Compositions Depending on Their Content

The influence of additive nature as well as its ratio on the rheological, tribological and technological properties of blends based on ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene has been determined. The energy costs impact in the polymer blends processing has been studied. It is shown that the rheological and tribological properties of the samples have a complicated dependence, which is determined by inhomogeneity of the system.

Receiving Elastoviscous Systems on the Basis of Aqueous Solution of Acetate and Succinimide of Chitosan in the Presence of Polyhydric Alcohols

The rheological behavior of acetate and succinimide of chitosan in mixed solvents was investigated. It is shown that the replacement of a part of the solvent by two- or three-atom alcohols is accompanied by an increase in the relative and dynamic viscosity of the succinimide chitosan solution, an earlier formation of the net of links, a transition from viscoelastic systems to elastoviscous ones at lower polymer concentration values and an increase in the relaxation time.

Characterization and selection of polymer for use in future research on improved oil recovery

Polymer flooding has been applied for petroleum recovery and the main results of this method are the effective increasing in oil production and the reduction of water circulation The objective of this work is to present a methodology for pre-selecting a polymer to be used in future research on enhanced oil recovery (EOR) by injecting polymer solution. A reservoir was selected and characterized. Seven samples of commercial partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (PHPA) were also selected and characterized.
