In the article the terminogroup of noun in morphological terminology of Ukrainian of the end of  XIXth – the beginning of the XXth centuries is considered. It was traced that morphological terminology in educational books and grammars mostly was not mixed with the terms of syntax, because syntax was not always included into the contemporary works. The opinion of Yu. Shevelov on the origin of grammatical terminology was given, its Galician origin was emphasized. The transition of scientific thought on the stage of improvement and consolidation of a number of morphological terms is revealed. A comparison of such lexemes in different grammatical advisers and other educational textbooks of simultaneous period will allow to follow their historical processes, unification and development evolutioning. An ambiguity of the use of the term "morphology" is traced, the examples of varying parts of speech are given. It was revealed that at times in textbooks term "morphology" did not exist at all. However, grammarians and scholars of that time introduced this part and related terminology in their own works, without using the term morphology. The various options belonged to the structure of morphological terms for an expression of parts of speech. The number of parts of speech is determined as constant, which was a good thing, as the theoretical framework of Ukrainian morphology and its terminology were being gradually established. However, the terminological instability of names of certain parts of speech in grammatical educational books of the end of  the XIXth – the beginning of the XXth centuries was observed. The usage of part of speech term was not strictly adhered. The reasons that prevented unification of morphological terms were marked. The «terminology unit» denoting noun and its main categories was found. Most morphological terms were included in the bosom usage of the modern morphological structure of the Ukrainian language. The study of terminology in contemporary academic grammars contributed to the terminological ordering and unification of certain terms.
