Веб-систему рекомендацій (рекомендаційну систему для веб- сторінок), як правило, втілюють на веб-серверах і використовують для даних, отриманих зі збірки проглянутих веб-шаблонів (неявні дані) чи реєстраційних даних користувачів (явні дані). Розглянуто методи і алгоритми рекомендаційних веб-систем, основаних на технології видобування даних (веб-аналіз).
