STRENGTHENING THE MILITARY POTENTIAL OF THE BUCHAREST NINE STATES IN THE CONTEXT OF THE RUSSIAN-UKRAINIAN WAR (Review Article)

The article focuses on strengthening the military potential of the Bucharest Nine (B9) states in the context of the russia's war in Ukraine. The authors clarify the reasons and goals of the consolidation of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe for cooperation within the framework of the Bucharest format. Prerequisites for changes in defense spending within NATO are described, namely, the russian-Ukrainian war. The reaction of the North Atlantic Alliance to Russia's armed attack on Ukraine is studied, in particular after the full-scale russian invasion.

Challenges for Cooperation of the Participating States in the Bucharest Nine Format in the Conditions of the Evolution of Security Threats on NATO's Eastern Borders. (Research Article)

The article reveals the challenges for cooperation of the participating states in the Bucharest Nine initiatives in the conditions of the evolution of security threats on NATO’s eastern borders. The preconditions, purpose and goals of the Bucharest Nine have been highlighted. The group composition of B9 participants on a territorial basis has been considered, namely: the Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania), the Visegrad Four countries (Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, and the Czech Republic), and the Black Sea countries (Bulgaria and Romania).

NATO membership for Ukraine as a geopolitical imperative in the context of national and regional security

The historical events and geopolitical processes that affected and have influence on the Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine are analysed. The NATO-Ukraine relationship in the period of Russian aggression and “hybrid war” are considered and the factors that can become decisive for global and regional security are examined.

NATO’s Role in Ensuring Energy Security in the Conditions of Changes in the Global Energy Landscape (Research Article)

The article identifies key problems on the path of energy security and the role of NATO in solving them. The Alliance’s position on the energy issue has been determined. The documents of the NATO summits in Bucharest in 2008, in Chicago in 2012, and the NATO 2010 Strategic Concept have been analyzed. It turned out that the Alliance has divided its role into three areas: raising awareness; protecting critical energy infrastructure and deepening energy efficiency in the military. The role of Centers of Excellence, their specialization, and goals have been investigated.

The article is dedicated to the topical problem of formation, effective functioning of the European Information Society, creation of security system and counteraction to the negative information and psychological influences.

Theoretical-legal analysis of the state personnel policy in the military organization of Ukraine

The article analyzes the scientific views regarding the theoretical and legal foundations of the state personnel of the Military organization of Ukraine. Analyzes the legal regulation in the area of which is determined by a set of objectively determined social relations aimed at ensuring personnel of military forces and law enforcement agencies. Disclosed are the most important problems of staffing the state military organization, as well as proposals for their research and practical solutions.
