OPEN ACCESS POLICY
"Ukrainian Journal of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science" is an open access journal. All articles are free for users to access, read, download, and print.
Our mission is to improve machines and materials science by affording the opportunities for scientists, researchers, designers and technologists to present the results of their professional activity.
The main output of the Journal is presentation of new ideas and knowledge, which we expect our authors to publish as high-quality, peer-reviewed research articles.
We believe that maximising the distribution of these publications – by providing free, online access – is the most effective way of ensuring that the research can be accessed, read and built upon. In turn, this will foster a richer research culture.
We therefore support unrestricted access to the published output of research as a fundamental part of its charitable mission and a public benefit to be encouraged wherever possible.
- expect authors of research papers to maximise the opportunities to make their results available for free;
- provide an access to electronic copies of any research papers that have been accepted for publication in our peer-reviewed journal as soon as possible (within six months of the journal publisher's official date of final publication);
- expect the well-known and leading researchers to select publishing routes and to find the co-operators (co-authors) among the younger and less-known researchers not able to present the results of their investigations in generaly recognized and higly-cited international journals;
- affirm the principle that it is the intrinsic merit of the work, and not the affiliarion, the academic status or the scientific degree of the author, that should be considered in making publication decisions.
