The article notes that family law is an important component of the legal system of any state, as it regulates relations between family members, including issues of marriage, divorce, child custody, alimony and other aspects related to family relations. This work compares the family law of Ukraine and the United States, highlighting key differences and common features, as well as their impact on the practice of family relations. The article examines the foundations of family law in both countries, in particular the codes that regulate family relations.

The article highlights the importance of religious and legal norms in socially accepted regulation of social relations. It justifies features of the modern legal system development in the context of practical significance of its christian norms. The articles studies the influence of biblical norms on the formation of domestic private legal rules and analyzes their role in the formation of civil society and law-bound state.

In the article made theoretical analysis and comparative characteristics of the concepts of mentality, legal mentality.
An attempt was made of determining criteria by which classified the mentality of positive law of states, nations, nationalities using the following categories of theory and philosophy of law as “system of law,” “legal system” and “Family Law."
