Research on the speed mode of vehicles in dedicated lanes

The issue of changing the speed mode for vehicles in dedicated lanes for public transport is discussed in the paper. Several arterial streets in Lviv were selected to analyze this concept. The study assesses the impact of various factors, such as traffic volume and composition, on road traffic efficiency. It has been found that in areas with dedicated lanes for public transport, there is a reduction in delays and an increase in traffic capacity.

Change in traffic volumes in construction work zones

The problem of bottlenecks on the road network is relevant, especially in cities with radial and radial-ring schemes, since in case of their occurrence on arterial radial streets, it is difficult to choose an alternative route due to the low capacity of secondary streets. One of these bottlenecks is the repair work area, where, due to the closure of one street, the detour is carried out by parallel routes, which increases the load on local streets and driveways. Traffic flow volumes in the repair work areas are investigated in this paper.

Impact of traffic volume and composition on the change in the speed of traffic flow

The problem of the change in the speed of traffic flow at different traffic volumes and compositions is researched in this study. The section of the road network with different geometric parameters (descent, ascent and horizontal section) was chosen for the study. The method of investigation of traffic flow`s speed and factors which have an impact on the reduction of road network capacity are analyzed.

Capacity increasing of arterial streets with controlled motion

The problem of capacity increasing of arterial streets with controlled motion is investigated in this paper. For investigation, sections between intersections on the road network of Lviv city were chosen at their different length and roadway width with most saturated traffic. Methods of capacity increasing of arterial streets with controlled motion and factors that have impact on the capacity reduction are analyzed. Capacity of intersections at different volume-capacity ratios is determined. The distribution of average speed for sections between intersections of different length is built.

Impact of street parking on delays and the average speed of traffic flow

The article is devoted to the problem of the impact of street parking on delays and the average speed of traffic flow. The sections with different ways of putting vehicles near the roadway in the central part of Lviv city with the most saturated flow were exposed to scientific scrutiny. For this purpose, the program software PTV Vissim is used. The causes of the impact of street parking on traffic flow speed and roadway capacity are analyzed.

Choose of optimal regimes of traffic light control in operating zone of pedestrian crossing

On the given stage of motorization level development and increase of traffic flow intensity, with increasing frequency apply to the implementation of intelligent automated systems of traffic control. The quality of their work depends foremost from study of the primary factors of road users, their behavior, including the factor of a person as movement operator, geometric parameters of communication routes, road conditions as movement environment. Such study is held by methods of field research, documentary research and mathematical modelling.
