The article explores the evolution of the concept of "global food security", identifying and analyzing the key determinants that influence food security levels worldwide. The objective of this study is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the essence and determinants of global food security to develop scientifically sound recommendations for ensuring the availability and quality of food for all people on the planet.
The problems of monitoring and assessing the state of the agricultural sector as an integral part of food security of the country are considered. Along with other countries, Ukraine is one of the world's leading food security countries. Grain production is one of the leading industries in the agricultural sector. Ukraine is one of the largest exporters of grain and pulses in the world. The structure of sown areas in Ukraine by types of crops is analyzed, and the main problems in connection with active hostilities in certain regions are identified.
Analysis of the secondary marketing information proves that the dairy sector is the leading in the Ukrainian food and processing industry. It not only affects the well-being and health of the population, but also the food security of the country. At the same time, the Ukrainian dairy market operates in conditions of intense competition. As a result of the military action the number of milk processing enterprises in Ukraine decreased at the end of 2022, at the same time, a decrease in the production of several dairy products in natural terms is observed while their prices are increasing.
