Сombined dye-loaded hydrogels: promising antimicrobial materials for wound treatment
The article presents the results of studies on the release of dyes with antiseptic properties - methylene blue and malachite green - from composite polyacrylamide-gelatin hydrogels. It is shown that, depending on the structure and the presence of functional groups in the dye molecule, the release from the hydrogels occurs at different rates. The study of the release process from the hydrogel's polymer matrix revealed that it is prolonged, which may ensure sustained bactericidal action. The developed hydrogels can be considered promising antimicrobial materials for wound treatment.
