GPS monitoring network

Application of GPS technique for monitoring of copper basin area in Poland

The territory of the copper ore basin with an area of about 800 square kilometers is located in the South-Western part of Poland. Intensive extraction of minerals leads to significant deformations on the surface of the basin. In 1993, the Institute of Geodesy and Photogrammetry established a GPS network for monitoring deformations. The lengths of the sides of the network range from several hundred meters to 42 km. During observations of the GPS campaign in October 1993, 6 GPS receivers Ashtech MD-XII were used. Observations were processed by GPPS version 5.0.
