Enhancing Organic Bulk Heterojunction Photovoltaic Cells through the Integration of Polyaniline Buffer Layer

The exploration of buffer layers in organic bulk heterojunction photovoltaic cells utilizing a blend of MDMO-PPV:PCBM has revealed the effectiveness of both organic solvent-based and electrodeposited polyaniline (PANI) films. Research demonstrates that incorporating polyaniline as a buffer layer significantly enhances the photovoltaic performance parameters over the conventional PEDOT:PSS layers. Notably, the utilization of electrodeposited PANI films has yielded a remarkable increase in power conversion efficiency, achieving an optimum rate of 2.01%.
