The article examines the problem of organizing legal security in the information sphere. Based on the provisions of Article 17 of the Constitution of Ukraine and the Information Security Strategy, one of the most important functions of the Ukrainian state at the present stage is to ensure information security. The problem of legal security in Ukraine acquires particular relevance and importance today, during the full-scale invasion of the Russian aggressor, when his insidious aggressive actions are implemented on all fronts, including in the information space.

The article examines the phenomenon of Ukrainian memes as an element of the information space and public discourse. In particular, authors analyze the role of memes in the formation of public opinion, their influence on social attitudes and their ability to be a tool of informational struggle. The authors analyze the evolution of memes from entertainment content to a serious socio-cultural phenomenon that has significant potential in political discourse. Special attention is paid to political memes, which become the society’s reaction to events in Ukraine and the world.

The article offers various definitions of 'Ukraine’s information space' and highlights its crucial role in national security, particularly in safeguarding the information and psychological well-being of individuals, society, and the state. It delves into the socio-informational nature of gonzo journalism, a novel form of mass media, and examines how it operates within Ukraine’s information landscape. The piece underscores the interconnectedness of gonzo journalism and the information space amid intense anti-Ukrainian information warfare and the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian conflict.

 This article is devoted to the definition and analysis of the main methods of Russian information propaganda and the study of their real impact on creating a negative image of Ukraine in the international community.

The article considers the legal mechanisms for ensuring information security. It has been proven that today, more than ever, when there is a war in Ukraine, the issue of ensuring information security becomes especially relevant and significant, as the information space becomes a “battlefield” on a par with the war front. Enemy forces actively use informational and psychological operations to destabilize the situation inside our country, create panic, spread fakes and undermine trust in state institutions.
