MEMES IN POLITICAL DISCOURSE: FROM IRONY TO INFORMATIONAL INFLUENCE

The article examines the phenomenon of Ukrainian memes as an element of the information space and public discourse. In particular, authors analyze the role of memes in the formation of public opinion, their influence on social attitudes and their ability to be a tool of informational struggle. The authors analyze the evolution of memes from entertainment content to a serious socio-cultural phenomenon that has significant potential in political discourse. Special attention is paid to political memes, which become the society’s reaction to events in Ukraine and the world.

The Influence of Opinion Leaders on Public Opinion and Behavior of Youth: the Communication Aspect

The article explores the phenomenon of opinion leadership among Ukrainian youth in the context of digital transformation and the increasing role of social media in shaping consumer behavior, lifestyle choices, and worldviews. Based on the two-step flow theory of communication by Katz and Lazarsfeld, the study investigates how opinion leaders − often influencers and blog- gers − affect young people’s preferences, trust, and decision-making processes in the digital era.

How to reach communication: to the issues for the protection of human rights and freedom in the information sphere

The article presents legislative changes to the Law on the Print Media, including the Media Act and the Misinformation Act. The features of the modern stage of communication and functioning of information in it and manipulation of it with the purpose of hostile influence on the conscientiousness of the communicators are characterized. The harmful effects of the hybrid information war have been pointed out. Separate opinions have been expressed on the provisions of the bills under discussion.

Situation in Ukraine and Ways to Solve it According to Poles

The purpose of the article is to present the process of shaping public opinion on the situation in Ukraine under the influence of current political events, even if knowledge about them came mainly from media reports. The publication uses descriptive and comparative methods as well as the analysis of opinion surveys conducted by the Center for Social Opinion Research (CBOS). The article uses 11 research reports and the report titled “Polish Press Debate on the Conflict in Ukraine. Comparative Perspective 2014–2015”, created by the Laboratory of Media Studies of the University of Warsaw.
