RESIDENTIAL LVIV. THE HISTORY OF THE FORMATION OF RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION IN THE PERIOD 1945 - 2010.

Housing has always largely determined the appearance of the city. It can be said that there is no city without housing and there never has been one. Even if at the beginning, when a fact of the urban environment appeared, this side played a secondary role (for example, if we are talking about a castle or a military camp), very soon the modifications were started for the benefit of the residential function. (Rossi, 1976, 2011). Italian architect Aldo Rossi’s opinion defines the role and place of the housing in the city landscape.

SELECTED ISSUES OF PRESERVING THE HISTORICAL ENVIRONMENT OF RESIDENTIAL COMPLEXES OF THE 1920S-1930S IN UKRAINE

The article raises some topical issues of preservation and regeneration of the historical environment of residential complexes of the avant-garde modernism period in Ukraine, in particular the deplorable condition of multi-story apartment buildings of the 1920s and 1930s. The reasons for the disfigurement of their authentic appearance by residents (extensions, glazing of balconies, partial "insulation" of facades, etc.) are revealed.

HIGH-SPEED URBANISM. DEVELOPMENT OF THE RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT "PID HOLOSKOM" IN LVIV

The article is devoted to the study of a new residential area in Lviv, called Pid Holosko. It describes the process of formation of the district, from historical to the present day, and its participation in the development of the city. On the basis of the research identified the main characteristics of the new urban development, the number of houses built and the prospects for its development, the number of inhabitants, the intensity of buildings, the provision of educational institutions and recreation.

THE RESIDENTIAL ARCHITECTURE OF THE CENTRAL PART OF VINNYTSIA IN THE 20’s – 30’s OF THE 20TH CENTURY

In the article it has been carried out the analysis of formation of Vinnytsia architectural environment in the beginning of the ХХ century. It is suggested the chronology of residential architecture development in the 20’s–30’s of the ХХ century considering architectural and urban-planning as well as the historical and cultural factors.
