Research on the maneuvrability of an articulated bus on a physical model

The article discusses the use of articulated buses for passenger transport in large cities. The efficiency of such buses is due to the fact that during peak hours, an articulated bus operates, while during off-peak hours, only one bus is in operation. However, the use of such articulated buses requires in-depth research into their technical and operational characteristics, particularly their maneuverability, which ensures that articulated buses can navigate complex street networks effectively.

Distribution of vehicle speeds in traffic flow on multilane roads approaching major and metropolitan cities

The distribution characteristics of vehicle speeds on multilane highways approaching major and metropolitan cities, using a six-lane segment of the M-05 Kyiv – Odesa highway as a case study, are investigated in this paper. The research methodology is based on field observations employing frame-by-frame video analysis with an accuracy of 0.04 seconds, enabling precise identification of time headways between vehicles and calculating their instantaneous speeds. Both theoretical and empirical speed distribution curves were constructed.

Increasing the complex intersections functioning efficiency by restriction of left-turn traffic flows

Providing rapid and safe traffic in cities requires the use of a set of planning and organizational measures. While the implementation of architectural-planning measures requires, except for significant investments, a quite long period, organizational measures can lead to a temporary but relatively rapid effect. For this purpose, an analysis of traffic flow metrics on the approaches to the intersection, traffic light cycle, and the traffic phasing is carried out.
