Yevhen Konovalets

In December 1919 the military formation of the Sichovykh strilʹtsiv under the command of Ye. Konovalets completed its history. Part of the strilʹtsiv continued their activities during the First Winter Campaign, some joined the UGA in Vinnitsa, and those who remained with Ye. Konovalets were interned in a camp in Lutsk. This stage of life and activities of Ye. Konovalets lasted until march 1920. After that he traveled to Vienna with the task of organizing a brigade of Ukrainian military personnel for the UNR army stationed in the Nimetsʹkomu Yablonnomu camp (Czechoslovakia).

The study of historical figures, which is associated with the creation and development of various processes that have determined historical changes, require special attention. After all, each stage of the activity of such figures is decisive, it provides an opportunity to understand the sequence of actions, decisions, etc., the environment that helped, supported or criticized. In this context, the objective is to deal with the almost 3.5-month history of Е.

The article researched the complete secondary education of Yevhen Konovalets. It was explored that he raised the universal values, skills and abilities of the subjects of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and what else formed the national identity. We received an educational portrait of E. Konovalets, which is typical for almost everyone who influenced and determined with him historical processes in the Ukrainian lands in the 1910s—1930s. Especially when it comes to the link of secondary education — the gymnasium, as well as with the Ukrainian language of instruction.
