Strategic management in healthcare institutions is a key multifaceted process that allows not only to form and implement effective strategies that balance the relationship between the organization and the external environment, but also to achieve defined long-term goals.
The purpose of the article is to form a classification of types of strategies of healthcare institutions depending on the levels of management and structural divisions of the institution.
The material basis was the works of domestic and foreign scientists. In the process of research, methods of theoretical generalization and grouping were used to systematize existing approaches to strategic management, formalization to clearly define concepts, analysis and synthesis to study individual aspects and combine them into a holistic system, as well as logical generalization of results to form conclusions and a new classification of strategies.
Unlike industrial and commercial enterprises, management in HCPs is characterized by a socially oriented approach that emphasizes the preservation of population health as the main value, is based on human potential and provides flexible adaptation to changes in the external environment.
The study presents a classification of types of strategies in healthcare institutions, which is structured by management levels and structural units. It covers the state (national), regional, municipal (public) and internal (level of medical organization) levels, each of which has its own specific tasks and strategies. There are also corporate strategies (growth and reduction), strategies of individual divisions or business units (focused on specific social needs and competitive advantages) and functional strategies (marketing, personnel, financial, operational, innovation and development strategies).
This detailed classification emphasizes the interconnection and interdependence of all strategies necessary for the effective implementation of the overall strategic goals of the health care institution. Thus, the personnel strategy provides qualified personnel, the marketing strategy attracts patients, the financial strategy optimizes resources, the operational strategy improves the quality of services, and the innovative strategy implements the latest technologies.
This classification provides a comprehensive view of strategic management, which is critically important for increasing competitiveness, improving the quality of medical services, optimizing the use of resources and sustainable development of the health care system.
