INTERACTION OF THE FLOW OF FLUSHING FLUID WITH THE DRILL PIPES AND THE WALL OF THE WELL

The steady-state flow of flushing fluid in the annular space of a drill pipe string in the case when the cross section of the channel is an eccentric ring is considered. The drilling mud is considered as a viscoplastic non-Newtonian fluid. The method for calculating the hydraulic parameters of the flushing fluid flow is based on the use of iterative methods of solving nonlinear equations and numerical analysis methods. The method can be used to calculate the hydraulic parameters of the flow in cases of laminar, structural and turbulent modes of fluid motion.

Algorithmic Method for Precision Enhancement of Paper Pulp Blade Consistometer

The article deals with the algorithmic method for precision enhancement of paper pulp blade consistometers . In the said method, the current strength in the winding of a moving coil of a magnetoelectric transducer in the steady regime of sensor`s blade motion condition is measured during its movement in downstream and upstream directions. Thus, we can minimize the error resulting from the impact of changes in flow velocity relative to paper pulp measuring blade of the consistometer. Schematic diagram of a paper pulp consistometer with paper pulp flow velocity compensation is presented.

Evaluation of Influence of Wall Slip on Measurement of Rheological Parameters by Means of a Hydrodynamic Measuring System

The technique for processing the output signals of hydrodynamic measuring system of rheological parameters of non-Newtonian fluids is presented in the paper. Hydrodynamic measuring system is built on four serially connected bridge hydrodynamic converters. The paper shows that the error of determination of rheological parameters directly from the experimental flow characteristic in consistent variables is considerable if the non-Newtonian fluid has the effect of wall slip on measuring surfaces of sensors of bridge transducers.
