CHROME PLATING OF PRESS TOOLING USED IN THE PRODUCTION OF NEW ELASTOMERIC MATERIALS

This research has produced multicomponent titanium-doped chromium coatings to strengthen the working surfaces of press tooling dies operated under aggressive conditions during the vulcanization of products from new elastomeric materials. The pressing was carried out on a hydraulic vulcanization press 100-400 2E.

Chemical Leaching of Al3Ni and Al3Ti Alloys at Room Temperature

Al3Ni and Al3Ti alloys were prepared by arc melting and exposed to chemical leaching in 5M NaOH at room temperature. In case of Al3Ni alloy, Al reached phases react with the leaching solution to produce nanoporous nickel with a pore diameter in the range of ~10–20 nm. Only pure Al phase of Al3Ti alloy chemically reacts with the production of a dense wrinkled surface with a wrinkle size of ~50–100 nm.

Production of Iron, Titanium Dioxide Modofocations and Titanium

Conditions for the reduction of titanium-magnetite concentrates (main components are Fe 52–54 % and TiO2 5–7 %) by natural gas for obtaining iron powder and titanium fraction were studied. Based on the theory of granulation in the drum apparatus, granules with 25 % of soda fluxing additive with optimum diameter, humidity, strength and porosity were obtained. It was found that the reduction reactions in the temperature range of 1143–1198 K are carried out if a mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide is added to the natural gas in amount of 15 vol %.

Electrochemical Oxidation of VT6 Titanium Alloy in Oxalic Acid Solutions

The influence of the electrolysis parameters on the process of VT6 titanium alloy oxidizing in oxalic acid solutions is presented. It is shown that the nature of cell voltage-time curves for the alloy samples depends on the current density used. The interference-colored oxide films are formed on the surface of the alloy at the anodic current density above 0.5 A∙dm-2. The maximal thickness and the oxide film color are determined by the cell voltage and do not depend on other electrolysis parameters.

Differences of the effect of thermal treatment in an oxygen-containing gas medium on properties of the surface layer Ti, Zr, Hf

The paper presents the characteristics of the surface layer of d-elements of the IV group (titanium, zirconium and hafnium) after thermal diffusion saturation from a controlled oxygen-containing gas medium. Saturation was carried out at = 750 °C for t = 5 hours at different pressures (P = 1.33∙10–1 Pa, = 1.33∙10–2 Pa, P = 1.33∙10–3 Pa). Experimentally revealed differences in the characteristics of the surface layer of titanium, zirconium and hafnium.
