Research of forest fires using remote sensing data (on the example of the Сhornobyl exclusion zone)

Earth remote sensing and using the satellite images play an important role when monitoring the effects of forest fires and assessing damage. Applying different methods of multispectral space images processing, we can determine the risk of fire distribution, define hot spots and determine thermal parameters, mapping the damaged areas and assess the consequences of fire. The purpose of the work is the severity assessment connected with the post-fire period on the example of the forests in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.

Determination of location of the historical objects using photogrammetric methods and methods of non-destructive ground research

The aim of the research was to determine the territory of the mass graves near Ralivka village (Lviv region) using  archival data and to display them on modern maps. To define the place of mass executions and burials from the World War II period applying ground geophysical methods on the locations pre-defined from the archival aerial images obtained by the Germans in 1944. Methods.

Determination of the mass graves of World War II using GIS technology

Aim of the work is determined graphically visualize historical data fragment of territory-based regiment of Yakutsk, is located in Kremenets of Ternopil region in the first half of the twentieth century on modern maps. With interpretive possibilities archival aerial photographs obtained by the Germans in 1944, to determine the place of mass execution and burial of Soviet prisoners of war and civilians during the World War II on the territory. Methods. A flow chart of the definition of mass graves from the World War II within the modern urban setting with the help of GIS technologies.
