The education process plays a significant role in increasing the socialization of individuals with specific needs. The information technologies to used support the education of such individuals should take into account their unique psycho-physical development characteristics. Creating an optimal communicative environment and developing the social skills necessary for the full involvement of students with special needs in the education process is an important component.

One of the necessary and mandatory conditions for high-quality professional art education is training in an environment that encourages creative work and provides the necessary level of comfort, ergonomic, technological, sanitary and technical requirements and proper organization of labour protection. Compared to other artistic professions, the working environment of a sculptor is more complex.

Scientific work is aimed to identifying problem areas during distance educational process and to development of services that could help of solving them. Empirical methods and methods of real-life observation were used to collect the initial data for study. Processing of the obtained data is performed on the basis of using analytical methods and methods of expert evaluations.

The article presents an overview and analysis of the state of research in the field of design and exploitation of modern educational spaces in universities around the world, namely areas with flexible planning, called informal learning space. According to the research conducted, the general characteristic and classification were developed and the basic principles of designing this space were revealed. The study identified several problems that arise during its exploitation, which should be taken into account in the designing process.
