Gender-Based Violence: Status, Consequences, Prospects for Combating
The article analyzes the state of the issue of gender-based violence in European countries. It establishes that gender-based violence can become normalized and perpetuated through structural inequality, such as societal norms, attitudes, and stereotypes regarding gender in general and violence against women in particular. It is clarified that the consequences of violence for women are more serious than for men, with long-term psychological effects that negatively impact quality of life and the ability to achieve life goals.
