EFFICIENCY OF USING IMPREGNATION COMPOSITIONS FOR SECONDARY PROTECTION OF ROAD CONCRETE

This article examines the effects of the simultaneous action of sodium chloride and cyclic freezing and thawing on the strength of monolithic road concrete of varying strength classes. There are two methods for protecting concrete and ensuring its durability. Primary concrete protection involves the proper selection of materials and ensuring their optimal ratio. Secondary protection involves treating concrete with special impregnating compounds based on organomineral compounds. The results of experimental studies on the effects of various types of impregnating compounds on changes in concrete strength during frost resistance testing under conditions of saturation with an aqueous sodium chloride solution are presented. It is shown that the secondary protection is most effective for concrete of strength classes below C32/40. The use of impregnation for concrete of high strength classes may lead to a decrease in their durability.
