Studying the Insulating Properties of Oxide Films Obtained on the Ti6A14V Alloy in Tartaric Acid Solutions Using the Method of Electrochemical Decoration by Copper

The investigation data of the formation peculiarities of oxide films on the Ti6A14V alloy in tartaric acid solutions have been given. It is shown that the behavior of alloy forming dependences is conditioned by the anode current density. At  ja < 0.5 A∙dm-2 the continuous oxide film is not formed on the alloy surface and the preset value of the final voltage on the cell is not reached.

SH-Wave Scattering From the Interface Defect

The problem of the elastic SH-wave diffraction from the semi-infinite interface defect in the rigid junction of the elastic layer and the half-space is solved. The defect is modeled by the impedance surface. The solution is obtained by the Wiener- Hopf method. The dependences of the scattered field on the structure parameters are presented in analytical form. Verifica¬tion of the obtained solution is presented.

Analysis of rail defects signals by the matlab wavelet toolbox programme

Rail networks across the world are getting busier with trains travelling at higher speeds and carrying more passengers and heavier axle loads than ever before. The combination of these factors has put considerable pressure on the existing infrastructure, leading to increased demands in inspection and maintenance of rail assets [1]. Nowadays, rails are systematically inspected for internal and surface defects using various non-destructive evaluation (NDE) techniques. The most common of which are ultrasonic and magnetic flux leakage (MFL) methods.
