ACOUSTICAL GAS ANALYZER

Method of measuring the relative component concentrations of two and three-component gas mixtures is proposed. The dependences of the sound velocity on the molar mass, the relative concentration, the heat capacity at constant pressure, the heat capacity at a constant volume and the absolute temperature of the gases in the mixture form the basis of the method. To improve accuracy, the change of measuring the speed on the measuring the frequency is proposed.

Synthetic frequency characteristics of near-surface layers under the seismic stations Trosnyk, Uzhgorod, and Mizhgirya

Purpose. In order to quantitatively estimate the dynamic effects of velocity structure under the three seismic stations of the Carpathian network spectral ratios between horizontal and vertical components of displacements on the free surface (frequency characteristics) depending only on parameters of the medium and defining its resonance properties have been calculated using the algorithm designed based on matrix method and the models constructed using the data of drilling in near surface layers. Methodology.

Synthetic and experimental frequency characteristics of near-surface layers under the seismic stations Trosnyk, Uzhgorod, and Mizhgirya

Purpose. In the paper, experimental spectral ratios between horizontal and vertical components of displacements from local earthquakes and noise recorded at the stations Uzhgorod, Trosnyk and Mizhgirya (frequency characteristics of the medium under the stations) are compared to synthetic ratios calculated using the velocity models built based on the data of drilling in near-surface layers; correlation between the resonance frequencies is evaluated, as well as the applicability of experimental and synthetic frequency characteristics in the regional seismological investigations. Methodology.
