The influence of cavitation on the phase-disperse state of hydrated calcium oxide

The effect of cavitation phenomena excited by ultrasonic radiation and in a jet-type hydrodynamic cavitator on the change in the phase-dispersed state of hydrated calcium oxide was investigated. The influence of the conditions of cavitation activation of calcium hydroxide on the sedimentation stability of its suspension was established. Based on the analysis of the intensity of sedimentation of Ca(OH)2 particles after cavitation treatment of calcium hydroxide suspension, the probable course of this process in different time periods is proposed.

Properties and Composition of Absolutized Ethanol and its Effect on the Gasoline Octane Number

The article describes the types, properties and efficiency of reagents (CaO, tetraethoxytitanium), which chemically bind water and dehydrate ethanol. The composition and properties of the absolutized ethanol were studied using the infrared spectroscopy, mass spectroscopy and gas-liquid chromatography. The octane number of gasoline with the addition of absolutized ethanol together with the combustion activator (diethyl ether) was measured as well.

Iron Molybdate Catalyst Stabilized by Calcium Oxide for Methanol to Formaldehyde Conversion

Regularities of methanol oxidation by atmospheric oxygen on the catalyst Fe2(MoO4)3/MoO3/CaO = 1 : 0.7 : 0.3 have been studied. It was found that the speed of the process in a model flow reactor obeys the first order equation with the observed rate constant of 1.0 sec1 and the apparent activation energy of 65 kJ/mol. It was established that the selectivity of formaldehyde in the process with once-through conversion over 45 % sharply decreases.
