A Corpus Assisted Discourse Study of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Wartime Addresses

This article reports a corpus-based comparative analysis of the English-language transcripts of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s nightly video addresses during two one-month periods of the Russia–Ukraine war: 24 February–23 March 2022 and 24 February–23 March 2023. Two specialized corpora were compiled from the official presidential website (≈60,823 and ≈28,300 tokens, respectively) and processed in LancsBox.

Corpus-based monitoring of dual normativity in orthographic principles

This study presents a corpus-based methodology for monitoring dual normativity in Ukrainian orthographic principles, focusing on the lexemes ефір [ephir] and етер [eter]. Using the General Regionally Annotated Corpus of Ukrainian (GRAC) and its subcorpus “Media 2000–2023”, the research traces the dynamics of implementing alternative orthographic forms in contemporary media discourse. The methodology allows for quantitative and qualitative analysis of dual norms, providing insights into the gradual establishment of a single normative variant.

Information Systems for Working With Text Corpora: Classification and Comparative Analysis

The article examines information systems for working with text corpora, particularly their application for linguistic analysis and management of large text data. Information systems for supporting text corpora are analyzed, classified, and compared based on their historical development and functional capabilities. The main focus is comparing the two most common systems that can be distinguished by functionality as corpus managers: ‘AntConc’ and ‘Sketch Engine’.
