Optimized Design and Fabrication of Polyethylene Glycol 1000/Polyamide 6 (PEG1000/PA6) Nanofibers for Phase Change Materials (PCMs) Application

Ultrafine phase change nanofibers based on polyethylene glycol 1000 (PEG1000) as phase change material (PCM) and polyamide 6 (PA6) as a supporting material were prepared in a systematic manner planned by the Design-Expert® software using the uniaxial electros-pinning. Research surface methodology (RSM) was carried out to optimize the parameters and conditions leading to minimize the fiber diameter. The effect of PEG content, applied voltage, needle gauge, and flow rate on the fiber characteristics was studied by a central composite design (CCD).

Compositional Fibers Based on Coal Tar Mesophase Pitch Obtained by Electrospinning Method

This research examines the use of coal-processing wastes of Shubarkol deposit (Kazakhstan) in obtaining useful materials such as carbon fibers. For our experiments, mesophase pitch was obtained by coal tar heat treatment at 773 K. Spinnable solution was prepared by crushing mesophase pitch into the pieces with adding poly(methylmethacrylate) as a fiber-forming material and 1,2-dichloroethane as a solvent.

Antibacterial Cellulose Acetate Microfibers Containing Pyridine Derivative Complexes

Pyridine (L1) and 2,4-dimethylpyridine (L2) halide complexes of the type of [ML2X2] were prepared and characterized via FT-IR and 1H NMR. The CA microfibers containing complexes were electrospun and investigated via FT-IR. The morphologies of the microfibers were investigated via FE-SEM. Antibacterial activities of the complexes and the fibers were investigated.
