Cyclic Silicon Organic Copolymers: Synthesis and Investigation. Review

This paper considers the synthesis and investigation of cyclic silicon-organic polymers with mono- and polycyclic fragments in the side chain. For obtaining monocyclic polymers, the hydrosilylation reaction of 1-hydro-3-vinylhexamethylcyclotetrasiloxane was used. The reaction was conducted in a $\mathrm{CCl}_4$ solution at 75°C in the presence of Speier’s catalyst $\left(\mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{PtCl}_6 \cdot 6 \mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{O}\right)$ to produce a viscous-flow at room temperature polymer. The polymers were studied by NMR spectroscopy.

Solid Polymer Electrolyte Membranes on the Basis of Fluorosiloxane Matrix

Hydrosilylation reactions of 2,4,6,8-tetrahydro-2,4,6,8-tetramethylcyclotetrasiloxane (D4H) with 2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5-octafluoropentyl acrylate at 1:4.2 ratio of initial compounds catalysed by platinum catalysts have been studied and corresponding adduct D4R' has been obtained. Ring opening polymerization of D4R in the presence of dry potassium hydroxide has been carried out and comb-type polymers with 2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5-octafluoropentyl propionate side groups have been obtained.
