OVER-STABILISED BITUMEN EMULSION FOR SLURRY SURFASING BY MIX TIME CRITERION

Slurry Surfasing was investigated using over-stabilised emulsions and highly reactive stone material with a methylene blue index of 18 at high temperatures. Unmodified emulsions were produced on four different emulsifiers at the same dosage -1.2% by mass of the bitumen emulsion itself. Slurry Surfasing was designed on the basis of the investigated emulsions, screening of the 0-4 mm fraction, water, Portland cement and mix time regulator.

CATIONIC OVER-STABILISED BITUMEN EMULSION IN ROAD CONSTRUCTION - REVIEW

This article describes the classification of cationic bitumen emulsions according to "reactivity" and breaking behaviour characteristics. The methods of researching the characteristics of breaking behaviour for bitumen emulsions of different "reactivity" in accordance with European and Ukrainian regulatory documents are presented. Available possible emulsifiers in Ukraine for over-stabilised bitumen emulsions are given with a description of road technology where they can be applied.
