The article examines the forensic characterization of evasion of military service by self-mutilation or in another way as a separate type of military criminal offenses that have become particularly relevant in the context of armed aggression against Ukraine. The need to form a scientifically sound and practically oriented methodology for their investigation is substantiated, which is based on the construction of a forensic characterization as a holistic system of typical signs of a crime.

The fight against juvenile delinquency is one of the important activities of the pre-trial investigation bodies, the prosecutor’s office and the court, which carry out criminal proceedings. The Criminal Procedure Code obliges the bodies conducting criminal proceedings against juveniles to establish in as much detail as possible the circumstances concerning the characteristics of the juvenile’s personality and the circumstances aimed at identifying the causes and conditions that contributed to his commission of a criminal offense.

The article based on the analysis of the current legislation, special literature, prosecutorial practices considered problematic moments of the prosecutor's participation in proving when reporting suspected in the course of pre-trial investigation.
