Synthesis, Characterization and Application of a Diatomite-Based Composite for the Adsorption of Anionic Dyes in Aqueous Solutions

Synthesis, characterization and application of the polyaniline-diatomite (PAD) composite in the adsorption of Reactive Red 120 (RR 120) and Acid Blue (AB) dyes were carried out. The composite was prepared by the in situ polymerization of aniline. Mass of purified diatomite was mixed with a solution containing aniline dissolved in 2M hydrochloric acid at room temperature. The solid obtained was characterized using the SEM, XRD and FTIR analyses. The kinetic adsorption of dyes was described using the pseudo-second order kinetic model.

The Synthesis and In Silico Antihypertensive Activity Prognosis of New Mannich Bases Containing the 1,2,4-Triazole Moiety

As a part of our continuous research on potential antihypertensive agents among morpholine and piperidine derivatives, 10 novel target compounds containing 1,2,4-triazole and morpholine or piperidine moieties have been designed and synthesized, and the docking studies have been conducted in order to find biologically active substances with the antihypertensive activity.

The Synthesis and Theoretical Anti-Tumor Studies of Some New Monoaza-10H-Phenothiazine and 10H-Phenoxazine Heterocycles

The synthesis and anticancer activity of a series of new 3-amido derivatives of 3-chloro-10H-pyrido[3,2-b][1,4]benzoxazine and 3-chloro-10H-pyrido[3,2-b][1,4]benzothiazine is presented. The synthesized structures were characterized by UV-visible, FT-IR, 1H NMR spectroscopy and elemental analytical data. The in silico physicochemical properties disclosed that neither 3-chloro-10H-pyrido[3,2-b][1,4]benzoxazine and 3-chloro-10H-pyrido[3,2-b][1,4]benzothiazine intermediates nor their carboxyamido derivatives violate Lipinski’s rule of five.

Polymer-FLR for Mud Fluid Loss Reduction

A fluid loss reducer polymer (polymer-FLR) was synthesized using acrylamide, hydroxyethyl methacrylate, N-vinyl pyrrolidone, and N,N-dimethyl acrylamide by free radical polymerization, followed by partial hydrolysis. Its composition was confirmed using FTIR and 1H NMR spectroscopy. API mud fluid loss reduction of polymerFLR was about 10-fold lower than the blank. High temperature, high pressure fluid loss reduction of about 9-fold were achieved compared with the blank.

Oleochemical synthesis of sulfanes, their structure and properties

For the first time, oleochemical sulfanes were synthesized via sequential vulcanization of fatty acid alkyl esters from rapeseed oil by benzoyl peroxide and elemental sulfur. Their structure and properties were established by the methods of instrumental analysis and it was shown that oleochemical sulfanes are complex structures with different cross-linking degrees, which provide excellent antioxidant and tribological characteristics and do not cause steel or copper corrosion under harsh test conditions.

A circuit design of a cyclic voltage generator

The present paper describes a simple circuit for construction of a cyclic voltage generator, which can be used in electrochemical synthesis of conducting polymer films like polyaniline(PANI), polythiophene, polypyrrol etc. The circuit consists of a clock generator; its frequency is converted into digital voltage which is further converted to analog form using digital to analog converter (DAC). This analog voltage, after boosting, is used as a source of voltage in the synthesis of conducting polymer.

Hybrid antioxidants

The article is a review of the data on synthesis and physiological activity of hybrid antioxidants. The introduction offers an explanation to the fact why, in some cases, it is necessary to add drug molecules with fragments responsible for various properties and aimed at various targets. A large group of hybrid antioxidants comprise stable nitroxyl radicals that behave as antioxidants in free-radical reactions of oxidation. Compounds of this type were synthesized extensively to form a group of antitumor agents.

Synthesis, properties, functionalisation and applications of carbon nanotube: a state of the art review

The investigation of fullerenes and especially of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) has opened a totally new window for the development of polymer matrix composites with novel properties and applications. CNTs, which have a number of unexpected properties, both mechanical and electrical, seem to have huge potential as a filler, i.e. as a reinforcement in nanocomposites. With the discovery of carbon nanotubes, the research efforts have been initially concentrated on the better understanding of their processing conditions, modification, and properties.

A Synthetic Approach of D-Glucose Derivatives: Spectral Characterization and Antimicrobial Studies

A new series of methyl 4,6-O-(4-methoxybenzylidene)--D-glucopyranoside derivatives was synthesized using the direct acylation method. Methyl--D-glucopyranoside was selectively converted to methyl 4,6-O-(4-methoxybenzylidene)--D-glucopyranoside by the reaction with 4-methoxybenzaldehyde dimethylacetal in a reasonable yield. Using a wide variety of acylating agents, a series of 2,3-di-O-acyl derivatives of this product was also prepared in order to gather additional information for structure elucidation.

Synthesis and Characterization of Polymeric Resins Based on Methyl Methacrylate and Divinylbenzene

Porous spherical materials can be obtained by suspensions polymerization using a solvent pair. In this work porous resins based on methyl methacrylate and divinylbenzene were synthesized and characterized in terms of apparent density, specific area, pore volume, morphology, and swelling percentage. The results show that the diluents system (toluene/heptane or methylethylketone/cyclohexane) affect significantly the polymer properties. Furthermore, differences in the solubility parameters of the monomers and diluents affect the morphological structure of beads.
