The article analyzes contemporary innovative technologies used in the technical and expert examination of documents, particularly in the context of forensic practice. The research is based on methods of comparative and systematic analysis, as well as the applied study of specific technological solutions. Special attention is given to the use of automated systems, digital analysis tools, spectral scanning, and artificial intelligence technologies for detecting signs of forgery, falsification of document attributes, and determining the age of documents.
The aim of the study is to substantiate the feasibility of implementing innovative technologies in the technical and forensic analysis of documents by identifying their functional capabilities, advantages, limitations, and prospects for further development in order to enhance the effectiveness and objectivity of forensic expert activities.
The paper reviews recent scientific publications that highlight the process of digital transformation in forensic examination in Ukraine and emphasizes the need for the implementation of innovative solutions in the practice of state expert institutions, in particular, the Research Forensic Centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the Research Institutes of Forensic Examinations under the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. The integration of advanced technologies into the forensic domain is shown to be critically important in light of the growing incidence of cybercrime, electronic document forgery, and the demand for more objective expert conclusions.
The findings of the study have both theoretical and practical significance for the development of new technologies, the improvement of expert practices, and the modernization of approaches to forensic document analysis.
