The institutionalization of the Chornobyl catastrophe is considered in the scientific and conceptual sense. The scale of the Chernobyl disaster, the worst man-made disaster in human history, is well known to both scientists and politicians around the world. As a result of the explosion at the Chernobyl NPP on April 26, 1986, between 3 % and 7 % of radionuclides released into the environment at the time of the catastrophe were accumulated in the fourth power unit of the Chernobyl NPP. Among all the tragedies that have befallen mankind throughout history, the Chernobyl disaster has no analogues. It has left devastating traces in the environment, risks to human health, and worsened social, economic and living conditions. The Chernobyl lesson is a horrible experience. At the same time, this warning is not only for Ukraine – the message applies to all countries about the need for reasonable use of the so-called “peaceful atom”.
