The article considers problematic issues related to the risks posed by globalization processes in the world for the national security of Ukraine. Globalization is an internally controversial process because, on the one hand, it opens up new opportunities for political and governmental discourse, and on the other, it exacerbates existing or creates new problems, which today are defined as “challenges”. generated by previous stages of world development, which at one time did not find a proper solution in the world of public administration practice. This directly concerns the problems of a general nature, which are associated with the emergence of new factors in world development, and which call into question the possibility of normal functioning of the mechanisms of reproduction of public life, stability of international relations, sustainability. The processes of globalization are increasingly affecting both national security and international security. They determine the main trends in world politics and the economy, as well as lead to radical changes in the international security environment, which is becoming increasingly dynamic and controversial. The processes of globalization have become the most important factor influencing the security and defense policy of the world’s leading countries in the short, medium and long term, which poses an urgent task for our country to identify and assess the nature and significance of current challenges and threats to its national security. The negative consequences of globalization are much more striking for the state that has remained outside the space of developed countries, and Ukraine is at the junction of countries that benefit from globalization and those that suffer from its negative consequences
