Conflict of interest

The editorial board of the scientific journal  “Bulletin of Lviv Polytechnic National University. Series: Legal Sciences” strives to ensure the highest level of objectivity and transparency in the publication process. This policy requires all participants — authors, reviewers, and editors — to declare any potential conflicts of interest. Its key objective is to prevent any influence of conflicts of interest on the results of scientific research and the impartiality of editorial decisions.

Conflict of interest on the part of authors

Authors are required to disclose all possible conflicts of interest when submitting a manuscript. This includes both financial relationships (e.g., direct employment, honoraria, patents) and non-financial factors (personal connections, academic rivalry, ideological views).

Transparency requirement: All identified conflicts must be clearly stated, allowing readers to assess the potential bias of the authors and its possible impact on the work. Information about the absence of conflicts of interest is published at the end of the article.

Conflict of interest on the part of reviewers

Reviewers are required to declare any conflicts of interest that may call into question their ability to objectively evaluate a manuscript. They must immediately notify the editorial board and decline to review if:

• There are financial or personal ties to the authors or organizations involved.

• There is direct competition between their own research and the submitted manuscript.

• There is a personal interest or bias (friendship, rivalry) that could affect the impartiality of the conclusions.

Conflict of interest on the part of editors

Editors must also declare potential conflicts of interest that could compromise their ability to make unbiased decisions about articles. An editor must recuse themselves from reviewing a manuscript if there are financial, personal, academic, or other ties to the author or if their involvement could be perceived as biased. In such cases, the article is transferred to another editor or an independent expert is brought in to ensure the impartiality of the process.

General obligation: Compliance with this policy by all participants (authors, reviewers, editors) is a fundamental requirement for ensuring the integrity and objectivity of scientific communication.
