Editorial Procedures and Peer-review
Each manuscript is subject to a review procedure. By submitting a manuscript to the editorial office, authors agree to the review process.
All submitted manuscripts are checked to determine whether they meet the journal's profile, ethical policy, and are properly prepared. Incorrectly prepared manuscripts will be rejected or returned to the authors for revision and resubmission.
After preliminary evaluation and acceptance of the manuscript, the article is registered and the registration number is communicated to the authors. Manuscripts accepted for publication are sent for review. Reviewers are experienced specialists - external experts working in the relevant field both in Ukraine and abroad. To ensure objectivity in the evaluation of manuscripts, the editorial office adheres to "double-blind review": reviewers do not know the personal data of the authors; authors do not know the personal data of the reviewer.
A letter is sent to the reviewer on behalf of the editorial office with a request for review. An anonymous article and a standard review form are attached to the letter.
During the review, the correspondence of the article and its title to the journal's topic, relevance and scientific level, advantages and disadvantages, compliance of the article's design with the requirements of the editorial board are assessed. At the end, a conclusion is made on the appropriateness of publication. The review is provided to the author of the article at his request without a signature, indicating the reviewer's last name, position and place of work (double "blind review"). If the reviewer recommends correcting or finalizing the article, the editorial board sends the author the text of the review to make the appropriate changes to the work. An author whose article was not accepted for publication is sent a motivated refusal at his request.
Based on the reviewers' comments and recommendations, the editorial board makes a decision to accept, reject or send the manuscript to an alternative reviewer. The final decision on the publication of the article is made by the editor-in-chief.
Once the manuscript is accepted, it undergoes professional editing, English editing, proofreading by the authors, final revisions, and publication.
The review form required for each article published in the journal "Measurement Technology and Metrology" is attached below.
