The possibility of surface activation of polyethylene terephthalate materials due to their weak alkaline hydrolysis which does not cause weakening of the fibrous material has been shown. The activation has the positive effect on the functional products application on polyester material surface. It has been shown that during weak surface hydrolysis the initially smooth surface of PET becomes rough (at nanoscale level) that increases adhesion of functional products for polyester material.
